Tim Lloyd

President & Tourism

Tim is MD at Captain’s Club Hotel & Spa.  He is also a director of Christchurch BID and represents the Christchurch hotels on the Accommodation BID, which is BCP wide.   Tim is also a committee member of the BH Area Hospitality Association (BAHA) and a trustee of Christchurch Food Festival Education Trust (www.cffet.org.uk).  He has been a long-term supporter of the Chamber and was President in 2001 before becoming a founder of the Christchurch Food Festival and remained on the board for 20 years.  He currently sits on the Chamber Executive as the Tourism Representative and has been very active on the BID’s Food Festival Local.

Richard Oswald

Vice President

Richard joined the Executive Committee in 2023 and helps put together the bi-monthly Chamber Chat newsletter.   He runs PP Printing in Bargates and has been part of the Christchurch business community for nearly 30 years.

Sue Harmon Smith

Chamber Secretary

As Secretary, Sue looks after the Executive Meetings, Membership, Social Events and helps with the production of the Chamber Chat. Sue was Christchurch Tourism Manager for a number of years; Manager of Adventure Wonderland; an organiser of Stompin’ on the Quomps and had been involved with the Christchurch Food Festival for many years.  Most recently she has been pleased to be involved with the Food Festival Local organised by the Christchurch BID.

Andrew Barfield

Treasurer

Andy is the Proprietor of Gervis Accountants in Christchurch. He is the immediate past President of the Chamber and has taken up the role of Treasurer. He is well known in Christchurch and involved in a number of local organisations including being Chair of the Christchurch Magdalen

Lucy Filer

BID Representative

Lucy is a partner at TC Group Accountants and business advisers based in the heart of Christchurch and has been for over 25 years.  She is actively involved in local business matters, including being ex-chair of the Christchurch BID and working with the Chamber.

Julie Laming

Bargates Representative

Julie renovated the ground floor of the Royal British Legion on Bargates into a dance and wellbeing centre with a vision to use it to develop the mental wellbeing of children in the local area. Julie has been running her own dance school business (Mad4Dance) in Christchurch for 20 years and also previously founded a children’s mental health charity.

Bob Atkins

Planning Representative

Bob receives BCP Council’s Planning updates each week and brings anything concerning businesses to the Executive Committee’s attention. Bob has had an engineering business in Christchurch since 1974 and undertakes specialist projects which include product development, jig and tool and machine design and manufacture.

Peter Thorne

Airport Representative

Peter ran a business in Christchurch and was President of the Chamber in 1986/67. He has been on the Executive for 42 years and brings significant background knowledge to the Committee. He has also represented the Chamber on the Bournemouth Airport Consultative Committee for many years and has Chaired the Committee on three occasions.
